Launching from the State dock, paddle over the remains of the Iris, one of the last working schooners, abandoned here in 1913. Paddling east, take in the beauty of the Jackson Harbor Ridges and Carlin’s Point natural areas. Reaching the point, Rock Island beckons just a mile away.
Learn the history of Rock Island on a hike to the famed Rock Island Boathouse and Viking Hall.* Visit the Pottawattamie Lighthouse, the second oldest lighthouse on Lake Michigan, and the first Lighthouse built in Wisconsin.
